These 1849 Reproduction Staunton Chessmen are highly detailed in the famous and classic Staunton design. They are handcrafted in the same chess workshop that produces some of the world's finest chess pieces from superior quality ebony and antiqued boxwood. These stunning pieces have been turned from solid wood then painstakingly carved with beautiful detailing and superbly finished. The king is an imposing figure at 4.4 inches, and along with his army, is perfectly weighted for balance with billiard cloth covered bases to protect the luxury board with which we have paired this set.

Rechapados Ferrer of Spain. High grade veneers of rich palisander have been utilized to create the stunning border around the light maple and black anegre playing squares. The deep gloss lacquer finish not only protects the board but also enhances the wood grain in the veneers.
