The dark walnut board is handmade in Florence, Italy, and was the only choice to give the exceptional Ebony Bath Chessmen the justice they deserve - which is why we spoke to our friends in Italy about making a dark luxury chess board just for the purpose.

As a result, we received a board of the highest quality, with deep grains of walnut running through a handmade playing surface. The natural patterning, defined by swirling walnut and ebony perimeter lines, means every chess board is unique.
