Each of the pieces in the large Winchester chess set is hand finished and polished using natural waxes which enhances the beautiful tone and grains of the graded sheesham. Following the traditional Staunton design, particular attention has been given to the graceful lines of the 4 inch king and detailed carving of the knight. Even though these chessmen are large they can no way be described as imposing. With marginally narrower bases than you would expect they will happily accompany a chess board of 21 inches or more.
