This supreme quality chess set combines the Blackmore sheesham chessmen with a very high quality walnut and maple board. The chessmen have been sourced from one of the world's finest producers of hand made chess pieces, expertly made from clean grained boxwood and sheesham, a rich golden wood. The unique design of the chessmen features a most distinctive shank. While remaining firmly in the Staunton camp the straight shanks are stunningly curved. This unusually renders the rook the most noteworthy piece, with a smooth curve to the body, compared to the familiar tapered design. The pieces have been weighted in their bases to afford the right degree of balance and their proportions make for an extremely satisfying game of chess 

The board is from our sumptuous luxury walnut and maple range which we have sourced from Europe for it's excellent quality, perfect finish and flawless manufacturing.
