Metal Manopoulos Grand Greek Roman Army Chess Set

Made in Greece by world famous games maker Manopoulos, this large, expertly finished Greek-Roman Army metal chess set is presented in a wooden cabinet. The detail on the brass and nickel plated chess pieces is excellent and they feature the Emperor or King, his Queen, Centurions or Officers and Infantry or foot soldiers. The knight is a Steed mounted Standard Bearer and the rook a classic ancient civilisation pillar.

The chess board, also made from galvanised metal, has raised feet at each corner and a distinctive olive green finish. The bespoke wooden hinged cabinet on which the set is housed can also be used as a playing platform.
