  • Expertly turned and carved from quality rosewood.
  • Stunningly decorative.
  • Proud 4.7 inch king.
  • Two extra queens for pawn promotion.
  • Bases covered with billiard cloth.
  • Suited to a 23 inch chess board.

With a king that stands proudly at 4.7 inches these chessmen are among the largest we sell. They have been expertly created from rosewood and boxwood. The rosewood used is dark and close grained and extremely attractive. These pieces follow the classic Staunton design to a point, but feature distinguishing ornate lines and carvings. Sharp points at the tops of the pieces are a distinctive feature of this beautiful chess set. Even the pawns sport a point at the top of their ball. A magnificent set of chessmen, crafted to the highest possible standards. Heavily weighted for balance and an absolute pleasure to play chess with. The knights feature detailed hand carving with flowing hair and facial features usually seen in much more expensive chess sets.
